St. Monica School Fish Fry Returns for 2026

Fish fry

One of the classic Lenten fish fries is back: the St. Monica School Fish Fry returns Friday, February 20, 2026, and it’s going full Olympic mode.

This is a beloved school tradition hosted by 7th-grade students and families to help fund their future class trip—so every plate you crush is doing good in the world (and making Lent feel a lot more… approachable).

Date: Friday, February 20, 2026
Where: Donovan Hall at St. Monica Parish (5681 N Santa Monica Blvd, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217)
Food + fun: Fish fry dinner, games, raffle, and a bake sale
Options: Dine-in and carry-out
Pre-order: Details coming soon (bookmark this one!)

Lent starts that week (Ash Wednesday is February 18, 2026), so this is an easy, festive way to kick off the season with friends, neighbors, and a little friendly “who found the best raffle prize?” competition.

The theme is delightfully punny: a “REEL good start to Lent,” with “gold medal” vibes and “podium-placing” baked goods. Expect the kids to commit to the bit in the best way.

What to expect

  • A classic Friday fish fry with the kind of community-line energy that says, “we’ve all been wintering… together.”

  • Kid-friendly chaos (the good kind): games, activity buzz, and lots of smiling people you vaguely recognize from school drop-off.

  • Raffle + bake sale: show up with your sweet tooth and your “I never win but I try anyway” optimism.

  • Carry-out option: ideal for anyone who wants the fish fry victory without the dine-in crowd.

Pro tips for a smooth experience

  • Watch for pre-order info (it’ll make the night faster and easier, especially for carry-out).

  • Bring a little extra patience—fish fries are a Wisconsin sport, and good ones draw a crowd.

  • Make it a mini tradition: start with dinner, let the kids play games, then cap it with something from the bake sale. That’s the whole cinematic arc.
